The Twelve Days of Christmas 2018
Chef Christopher Kostow and The Restaurant at Meadowood team celebrated the tenth season of The Twelve Days of Christmas® in December 2018. Our twelve-day charitable celebration invited influential chefs from around the world to cook in collaboration with Chef Kostow, utilizing the products and inspiration of the Napa Valley. The celebration benefited Saint Helena Preschool for All, Inc., a local non-profit organization providing scholarships to young children.
Chefs Christopher Kostow, Dan Giusti were joined by friends; Chefs Matt Orlando, Nancy Silverton, Naomi Pomeroy, James Syhabout, Katianna Hong, Jeremy Fox and Erik Anderson for a special evening of culinary collaboration to benefit Brigaid.
Reflecting on 10 Years
We write you as we have come upon 10 years together at The Restaurant -- more time than either of us have ever worked or lived anywhere. We began here as kids, ages 28 and 30 (we’ll let you guess who’s older), with far more ambition than sense. We are now fathers and husbands, with slightly more sense (although probably even more ambition…). Confronting this anniversary creates an opportunity for reflection in a métier that rarely allows for it...

Friends of Beard Benefit Dinner
On February 10th The American in Kansas City hosted a dinner in support of the James Beard Foundation. Our Wine Director Micah Clark curated the event’s wine experience to accompany dishes from a selection of Guest Chefs – Andrew Longres, Jeremy Fox, Jeremiah Langhorne, Mark Ludgaard Nielsen, John Shields, James Syhabout and Brady Williams.
Napa & Sonoma Relief Dinner
On December 2nd, we were honored to be a part of a very special evening, celebrating together our love for the land, our neighbors and friends. Our very own Chef Christopher Kostow along with Thomas Keller, Kyle Connaughton and Stephen Durfee orchestrated an extraordinary dinner following a reception of canapés prepared by over a dozen of the most talented chefs from Sonoma and Napa. The event raised over 3.4 million dollars to assist those affected most by the recent Wine Country wildfires.
